So - I was wondering how I would make it through a whole day here because we couldn't go to the orphanage until Tuesday. Well - we didn't get up until 11am today so that helped pass part of the day! There is more to it than that... My dear Jeff woke up at 2am and couldn't sleep. He then called home and decided to read for awhile. I woke up and thought someone was in our room not knowing that he was awake. :) We ended up staying awake for awhile and having some of our granola bar stash because we were so hungry. Finally, we went back to sleep around 5;30 or 6am. Funny .
We did some sightseeing today and found the grocery store. This was a nice find because we cannot read anything here. We tried to get dinner last night and ended up at a Sbarros. We just pointed and held up fingers to order. :) i thought that we were going to have to eat Sbarros our whole trip! Oh and we saw a McDonald's too. I am sure that will be one of our meals as well to save money and of course familiarity. Wow - we sure aren't experiencing the culture in our dining! :) So we found rotisserie chicken and waters at the grocery store which was nice to expand our small menu. I will have to work harder at learning Russian for our next trip.
We met up with Kyle and Jene and did some walking and lots of talking about the adoption. We saw the Kremlin and lots of other things that I will have to look up later. Kyle and Jeff decided to practice the metro. How funny it was. They bought tickets and then we rode it one stop to see if we could do it and to see if they were reading it right. What an experience. Jene and I just followed along.
We actually went to a restaurant for dinner - TGI Friday's! Jene and Kyle ate there for lunch so we knew that the menu had English and that they spoke a little bit of English.
Well... Jeff is sleeping so I guess that I should head to bed. Say a prayer for us, we will be heading to the ministry of Education and then meeting our little guy tomorrow. I am not sure many details, we just do what they say and when.
Hopefully, I will have pictures for you tomorrow!
